Director of Women's Services

Director of Women's Services will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and directing all functions of Women's Services. Responsibilities include: the daily operation of all cost centers under Women's Services including but not limited to staffing, scheduling, Physician, Employee, and vendor relations, as well as customer service for patients and visitors. Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Recommend a sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide department services in support of providing patient care. Determine the qualifications and competence of personnel. Maintain/implement quality control programs. Provide for the orientation, in-service training and continuing education of department staff. Identify and select outside sources for needed services.

There are 8 L&D rooms, 27 ObGyn beds, 4 NICU beds (Level II), 3 C-section suites in the unit, 2 recovery rooms, and 2 triage rooms with 2000 annual births.  They have 24/7 coverage for high risk patients by Perinatologists and Neonatologists from University of Florida with 7 Obstetricians and 4 ObGyn's on staff.  The 3 direct reports are the Manager of OB & NICU, Manager of L&D, and the Nurse Educator.  There are 85 FTE's with no current vacancies.

 

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
-Master's Degree in Nursing, highly recommended
-Active FL RN Licensure required
-CPR Cetification (American Heart Association- BLS ad ACLS for Healthcare Provider) required
-NRP, STABLE and A WHONN FHMPP required
-Minimum of  3 - 5 Years of Director level experience required  (Clinical and/or management experience in the area of Labor &     Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, and NICU)
-Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills required
-Able to work and adapt well in a fast-paced environment
-Knowledge in the guidelines and requirements of applicable Regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, AHCA, OSHA
