Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an organized program for staff education through identified quality assurance and improvement data, management requests, and annual educational needs assessment. Also is responsible for meeting JCAHO Standards, complying with corporate policy and procedures, for promoting teamwork with physicians and all health care providers, for promoting internal and external customer satisfaction, and for appropriate resource management.
This position requires a thorough knowledge of nursing and principles adult and/or child education, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. The ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority is required. Interactive association and managerial tasks are inherent in this position. The ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information electronically, verbally and in written formats is essential. A professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff are required. The ability to maintain confidentiality of information is essential.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) a must; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Education, or Health Care Field preferred
- Minimum of two years prior experience in education and/or clinical experience in an acute care facility preferred
- 1-2 years computer applications and operating system experience preferred.
- Current Florida license, as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS (CPR) American Heart Association Health Care Provider card
- AHA Instructor or Instructor-Trainer certificate preferred
- Familiar with principles of adult or child learning
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of regulations and requirements
