Full Time MRI Tech for Perm Placement
Full time MRI Tech opportunity with our Imaging Svcs (40 hrs/wk, 10:00a-7:00p with Call every 3rd week). Under the direction of the radiologist and facility management, operates MRI equipment for diagnostic purposes. Incumbent will demonstrate the ability to display independent judgment and initiative; will consider the age and special characteristics of the patient to optimize patient care. Participates in the growth and development of the department through policy and procedures development, PI activities and provision of continuing education for professional health care workers. The successful candidate will be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), will have at least one to two years of practical experience and completed MRI training.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Review medical record for patient history and pertinent information. Review requisition with physician. Tranfer patient to scan room; explain procedure and position according to protocol. Administer contrast material, according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognize and respond to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction. Select proper technique/protocol to obtain optimal data; perform scan. Evaluate images and send to print network or workstation.
2. Scan and review data on disk; perform multi-plane reconstructions. Perform archive function. Select & photograph pertinent data and forward to physician.
3. Review studies for overall quality. Illuminate any problems noted which were not part of initial exam. Alert Radiologist.
4. Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as they occur.
5. Perform daily calibration check on equipment; clean and perform minor maintenance procedures. Log problems and usage; alert supervisor as appropriate. Maintain wall units. Order and maintain supplies.
6. Instruct medical staff and technologists in unit's operations as necessary.
7. Participate in continuing education. Train with IV team prior to performing venipunctures.
8. Perform on-call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
9. Provide for patient care; comfort, safety and patient confidentiality.
10. Demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the RIS, and PACS.
11. Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required Job Qualifications include:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
At least one to two years of practical experience.
Completed MRI training and demonstrated competency.
CPR required.
Preferred Registry in MRI
Call will be 7 days per week. Candidate would also need to cover M-F from end of shift until 6am on her rotation
