Director Cancer Center
The Cancer Center Director coordinates the overall direction of the Cancer Program, using an interdisciplinary system approach.
Core Responsibilities:
Serves as a resource person to patients, families, and other health care professionals in the specialty of Oncology. Conducts and/or plans educational and/or support groups for cancer patients and their families. Assists in the development and monitoring of Standards of Care in oncology nursing practice. Organizes and participates in QA/QI activities relevant to cancer care. Assists in the monitoring and evaluation of data collected by the tumor registry. Assists in the planning, implementing and evaluating of oncology research programs in participation in clinical cooperative groups. Participates as hospital representative in community programs or committees such as the American Cancer Society. Provides resources to patients/families and staff to meet goals for spiritual/cultural support. Assists patients/families and directs staff toward resources to facilitate bereavement issues and coping with loss. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team and physicians (including radiation therapy) to promote quality patient care and to meet the goals of the cancer program.
Qualifications:
BS, Master's preferred with a minimum of 5 years Radiation Therapy background and a minimum of 3-5 years in a Director level role.
